Waitrose, Maidenhead
Long Term Lease For Long Term Growth
In the 1980s, AB Group sold John Lewis Partnership the site for one of their first Waitrose stores. It was on the corner of Moorbridge
and Forlease Road and incorporated a former bus depot. However, by 2005, the store needed to expand. And Waitrose approached us to
get the selling space they needed without moving from their established location. We owned the adjoining property, which was occupied
by an office building. This was demolished and the land has been leased long term to Waitrose. Their new 28,000 sq ft store is now ready
to meet the increased demand caused by the Elizabeth line and the growth of the local economy. We also sold land on Forlease Road to facilitate
Waitrose's development of flats as part of the same scheme.
